ABOUT US

Family Owned Since 1964

Think about who would know the most about fabrics.  Your local dry cleaner?  Your next door neighbor? How about the nearby or downtown boutique or department store?  All will know something about fabric and it's care.  May we suggest that in most communities the best textile experts will be found at the nearest college or university.  Particularly, their costume shop where elaborate fabric knowledge and skills are used to create clothing and decorations that can transfer a patron to most any time and place.  But who would take care of those creations?

For most of our existence, we have been taking care of local, regional and even statewide theatre and other production companies' fabric care needs.  Though they have been woo'd by others, for over thirty years these masters of amazing fabric creations keep coming to us for their fabric care needs.

While we have never been the most visible dry cleaner, we do aspire to be the best.  And the most economical.  It comes from our family values.

In 1964, George F. Forsey, an electrical planner, was laid off by his employer when they lost a rocket design and build contract with the Federal Government.  Determined not to be susceptible to such layoff's again, he searched for a business where he could be the boss.  His grandfather had given up a large shoe factory in England to immigrate to Utah, where they would now engage in car dealerships, candy manufacturing, ice cream production, a soft drink franchise and even a movie theatre.

George, affectionately known by many as the 'nicest guy in the world', found a franchise opportunity in the then popular self-service dry cleaning fad.  A Norge Cleaning Village was purchased in Ogden, Utah.  Later another Norge Village was purchased.  Today, through three generations, Forsey Laundry & Cleaning, Inc. is still in the family owned by a one of his grandsons and managed by one of George's granddaughters.

Though self-serve dry cleaning has gone the route of the hula hoop, we are still a mom and pop shop by nature, even though our equipment and techniques are as modern and advanced as anyone's.  If you've tried us, you'll likely say what we have heard from our customers many times, "You are the best dry cleaner in town and the cheapest, too."  That's music to our ears!  Thank you so much!
